24th Street Theatre
Since 2014, I've been giving back to my community through 24th Street Theatre. I handle a variety of jobs there, ranging from preparing a snacks for the students to warming them up with games before their class starts (and actually participating in the class itself). When I first started at 24th street, I worked with middle school students, but now I volunteer with the elementary school age students. My time with 24th Street has taught me a handful of skills both on the stage and off it. Part of my job is to be sociable with both the students - asking them how there day was, what they're excited for, making sure they have someone to talk to - and their parents/other adults at the theatre. I've grown to enjoy my time at the theatre and I plan to continue my work there as long as I can.

Young movie makers
My sophomore year I worked with Young Movie Makers, who are a part of the Young Story Tellers foundation, and it was great. It's a good experience to have and it's great to work one on one with students who just want to see their stories in a film. My responsibility at Young Movie Makers is to support the student I'm working with every step of the way until they create their film. This includes helping with the script, figuring out placement, and sometimes being a camera person. Working with Young Movie Makers has helped me learn about the movie making process, which is something that interests me. It also helped me learn how to work with someone younger than me better and how to help people with their ideas without pushing in my own.
