circle of confusion
The first field trip that I went on with GFS was to the production company Circle of Confusion. Circle of Confusion has produced shows like The Walking Dead, Outcast, and Fear the Walking Dead. They've also helped produce movies like Straight Outta Compton. We got a tour of the production company and got to meet people who work there and have a hand in helping these movies and shows be made. I also got to pitch my short film idea to an executive at Circle of Confusion. It was extremely nerve racking and I was extremely nervous, but luckily I didn't mess up and the executive really liked my pitch. It was really exciting to know that someone who helped get ideas like The Walking Dead made also liked mine.
nyu!
This summer, I was able to spend two weeks in New York. I was taking a personal storytelling class at Tisch thanks to Ghetto Film School! It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I'm eternally grateful to have had it. The trip truly changed the way that I think about and make films. Spending two weeks in a new city, learning different ways to make films with new professors, has helped shape me into the film-maker that I am today! It was an unforgettable experience that has allowed me to grow as a film-maker and person.
